I have collected a couple of original datasets that are available upon request and with citation:

  1. Women's Issue and Intersectional Issue Bill Introduction: All bills introduced in Ohio, California, Arkansas, and Florida state legislatures between 1998 and 2010 related to women's issues and intersectional issues (most generally defined and often related to subpopulations targeted in policy initiative) with primary sponsor's state, name, chamber, district, party, gender, race/ethnicity, and seniority. Bills are also coded by subject codes and ultimate status in the legislature.

  2. Campaign Contributions from Women's Issue Organizations to State Legislators: Variables in this data set include:

    • women's organization

    • women's organizational industry/issue of interest

    • campaign jurisdiction (state)

    • electoral district

    • office sought

    • candidate name

    • candidate party

    • candidate gender

    • candidate race/ethnicity

    • candidate's incumbency status
